Our Newest Graduate

Jane Dons The Black Robe
On May 7th, 2010 Jane Boynton Schoonover finished what she set out to do over 40 years ago, fulfill her dream of graduating from college. She has attained a BGS degree (Bachelor of General Studies) from the University of Connecticut! The intervening years were filled with adventures, travels, marriage and all the other things that can get in the way of interrupting dreams. But she has always had it in the back of her mind that this was a goal she would achieve. Jane has worked hard these last few years studying history, women's studies, Native American literature and pursuing archival work at Stanton Farm in Stonington, CT. The old farm house is a treasure trove of Colonial America antiquities which, with Jane's assistance and computer skills, are being referenced and archived. Three Cheers for Jane - her great spirit, her dedication and now her college degree!
